Galveston Fishing Reports – Speckled Trout, Red Fish, Snapper, Shark and More!

Galveston Speckled Trout Fishing

The Recent Galveston Fishing Report can not get much better.  Our Galveston Fishing Charters are reporting amazing catches of solid speckled trout, red fish, red snapper, king fish and more!  Sharks are beginning to make their presence know as well.

Galveston Speckled Trout Fishing

The past week we saw many trophy caliber speckled trout and red fish landed.  The granite reefs, often referred to as the Galveston Jettiesare producing solid fish, and large numbers as well.  Tidal movements, water clarity, and bait presence or lack of has been the contributing factors we are keying on.  Live shrimp and croakers free lined along the granite has been the most productive lately.   As the winds lay down thru the summer, we will begin to move more to the surf areas for the beachfront speck action.  Summer time fun in the Galveston Surf is tough to beat!

Galveston Bay Fishing

The Back Bays and Marshes of Galveston are producing nice slot red fish.  This is a great time of year for reds and flounder in the back lakes and bayous.  in these areas we are fishing live shrimp under popping corks and keying in on oyster reefs, and drains.  The fresh water run off is key to where we are having our best luck.  We are approaching a great time of year for flounder in these areas as well.

Galveston Flounder

As small shad have hatched and take refuge in these areas – the flounder will be right behind them feeding up!  This is always great fun as the flounder will be jumping out of the water chasing shad. If you are looking for a great fishing trip where sea sickness is never an issue, and some amazing views of Galveston Marshes, including opportunity to see some bayou alligators – a back bay fishing trip is second to none!

Galveston Red Snapper

Galveston Offshore fishing for red snapper, king makerel, and cobia are under way.  We just need calm seas, lite winds and strong arms to winch these giant fish from the Gulf of Mexico.  Red Snapper season will remain open until July 16, and we know where the big ones are swimming!

Galveston Flounder Gigging

Galveston Flounder Gigging has been challenging lately, but as the fresh water moves out of the bays and water clarity improves – our Flounder Gigging Charters will be great for summer time vacationers looking to enjoy an evening on Galveston Bay hunting flounder, sheepshead, blue crabs, and more!  You never know what you might see swimming the Bay floor at night in Galveston!

Galveston Shark Fishing

We are on the verge of sharks invading Galveston!  Every year by mid May or early June Galveston Shark Fishing is under way.  With all the rains the State of Texas had this spring – I believe the sharks have hung out a little deeper….a little longer.  As water salinity rises – the sharks will be here.  Talk about adrenaline – battling a Giant Galveston Shark!  Our Galveston Shark Fishing Charters are 110% pure adrenalinee!

Give us a call to book your Galveston Summer Fishing Trip!  We have a trip to meet any need!  If it is a fish that swims in Galveston…. we can catch it!  409-739-8526
